Justin Bieber was ultimately discovered by Scooter Braun who reportedly introduced him to Usher. Beliebers know how much Usher influenced Justin and helped him get started on the phenomenal career path he has embarked on, but there is a twist to the story.
The version of the discovery story that everyone has believed up to this point was revealed during a visit to the Ellen show. Usher claims he watched Justin on YouTube and teamed up with Scooter to get the young Bieber signed.
According to a friend of Usher’s ex-wife, Tameka Raymond, the discovery story is a glossy version of the real events. The friend writes a letter explaining what really went down and essentially credits Tameka for launching Justin’s career.
Apparently, Scooter and Usher were not on speaking terms when the “Baby” singer was first getting started. Usher did not want to take the time to listen to Justin because he was angry with Scooter. The persistent Scooter was not about to give up and went around the music mogul and talked with his wife, Tameka. According to the friend, Tameka is the one who “made” Usher watch the Justin Bieber YouTube videos.
The friend also claims it was Tameka who booked the tickets for Justin and his mom to fly to Atlanta to show off his singing skills. After hearing Justin, Tameka advised Usher he “better” sign this boy. And that is how it all really happened. Well, of course, that is what this unidentified person wants the world to believe.
In the letter, there are various negative comments about Usher’s character. Usher and Tameka are in a custody dispute and this friend feels it is somehow important to get the real story out there.
