Justin Bieber Won’t Be Fined £300K for Late London Show!

Justin Bieber Performs At The 02 ArenaVarious reports have speculated that Justin Bieber has incurred a £300,000 fine for causing his Monday night gig at London’s O2 to overrun. The pop star won’t be slapped with a hefty fine for supposedly breaking a local curfew after he arrived two hours late for his show at London’s O2 Arena Monday night, forcing it to go 30 minutes past a designated cutoff time for live performances.

In a statement to the Huffington Post, a rep for the Royal Borough of Greenwich said that the council “has not taken any action against the owners of The O2 in relation to Justin Bieber’s recent performance, as no breach of our licensing conditions took place.”

The rep also added that any such dispute is “simply a contractual issue between AEG and the artist involved,” noting, “We take any complaints made in relation to the venue very seriously, but it is an urban myth to suggest that we have ever levied a fine in relation to a performance there.”

Various reports have speculated that Bieber could have been hit with up to $300,000 in fees, or roughly $10,000 for every minute he went overtime.

To make up for the snafu, which he insisted was due to “technical issues,” Bieber arrived two minutes early to his show the following night.

He also apologized profusely on Twitter.

“There is no excuse for that and I apologize for anyone we upset,” he wrote. “However it was a great show and I’m proud of that.”

“I’m all about the music and the performance and I respect my fans,” he later added, stressing that “I never have any intent to upset or let anyone down.”
