Robbie Williams has certainly been through the ringer during his 23-year pop career.
From his heady boyband days in Take That to his super successful solo career, the 39-year-old has seen it all and done it all.
He’s battled drug abuse and alcohol abuse, but managed to come out the other side sober and with a loving wife and baby daughter Teddy.
But now the veteran pop heartthrob has issued a warning to his successor Justin Bieber, who he fears may be heading down the same destructive route that he did.
The 18-year-old Canadian superstar has recently hit headlines for partying with his rapper friend Lil Twist and allegedly smoking weed, which has prompted Robbie’s stark warning about being prepared for the obstacles ahead.
Speaking to The Sun about the pressures of pop fame, the Angels singer candidly admitted: “There is a list longer than my arm of f***-ups.
“It’s inevitable that someone like Justin Bieber will hit a hard time.
“You hear about everybody going, ‘You’re sh**’. And you go ‘f***, I’m sh**, I’d better go and do something else’. And it gets to you.”
As well as Justin’s recent partying hitting headlines, he’s had a very public Twitter war with Patrick Carney, the drummer of The Black Keys.
The award-winning rocker joked that Justin was snubbed in terms of Grammy nominations because the prominent music industry ceremony is “for music, not for money”.
Justin didn’t deal very well with the criticism and took to Twitter, declaring: “The black keys drummer should be slapped around haha.”
Some believe that Justin’s recent break-up with on-off girlfriend Selena Gomez is the reason for his out-of-character behaviour.
In any case, hopefully the Baby singer will heed Robbie’s advice and stay on the straight and narrow.
